This September 15, 2026 research snapshot maps five beauty workflows into 40 clusters and 689 unique terms, combining curated candidates with observed Google autocomplete suggestions. The target is US English, but search geography was not fully controlled.
A rule-based scope screen retained 620 terms; this is not demand validation. Priority areas for further research are Korean skincare ingredient exclusions, deep olive foundation shade comparisons, and product-specific formula version histories. Existing competitors already cover parts of each task.
Search volume, keyword difficulty, CPC, trends and willingness to pay remain unknown. The review leaves 33 clusters on WATCH and rejects seven generic approaches, with zero BUILD recommendations. Explore the English research cards and filters below, or download the full English report and data tables.
Beauty Keyword Atlas
Five categories of real tasks, from consumer product choices to running a beauty studio.

Start with these three consumer tasks
Ingredient exclusions for Korean skincare
General checkers already exist. The proposal is a Korean skincare shortlist that excludes multiple ingredients simultaneously and links each entry to the INCI list for the version sold in the US; exclusion preferences must not be presented as safety guarantees.
Purchase constraints are clear and could be validated with a small directory, but free tools already compete.Foundation shade matching for deep and olive skin
Olive-toned products and shade-matching communities already exist. Test whether cross-brand dry-down swatches for deep olive skin under the same lighting, distinguishing depth from saturation, reduce uncertainty when choosing shades.
The product-level need can be clearly described, and original comparisons offer verifiable differentiation; search volume and difficulty are unknown.Skincare reformulations and version comparisons
Brands already make version announcements. The proposal is to add historical INCI differences with region, packaging photos, and collection dates; it has not been established that no one provides this.
The generic skincare reformulation query returned no autocomplete suggestions; a branded Glossier query returned reformulation suggestions. Prioritize brand + specific product + version research, and do not assume that a generic checker already has search volume.Keyword inventory
The default view shows in-scope terms. Choose all scopes to audit geography, navigation and intent noise. A cluster priority does not validate each keyword.

See the English report for the full risk analysis, revenue examples and coverage boundaries. All differentiation below remains a hypothesis.
BODY01 · Product matching by hair porosity and curl pattern P2 / WATCH
Task: Filter products by strand thickness, curl pattern and how they feel in use / Consumers with curly or wavy hair
Candidate terms: low porosity hair products; low porosity curly hair products; lightweight curl cream for fine hair; high porosity hair leave in conditioner; curl products by hair porosity; protein free styling products for wavy hair; curl cream vs gel for fine curls; hair product matching quiz
Observation: Results included curl matching tools, brand analysis entry points, retailer guides and editorial recommendations.
Conditional differentiation: Automated matching and scoring already exist; test a transparent shortlist that explains recommendations through measured heaviness, hold and budget, rather than classifying products solely by porosity.
Risks: A selfie cannot establish porosity on this evidence; avoid presenting model scores as scientific conclusions.
Reviewed judgment: Direct competitors already exist; only verifiable data on the experience of using products may provide differentiation.
Next evidence: Validate US SERPs and search volume keyword by keyword, and check whether existing matching tools already explain texture and budget.
The Curl Lab · search snippet only: The source claims selfies can analyze curl pattern, porosity and density. The visible service entry points offer analysis and product matching; accuracy and paid conversion have not been verified.
CurlsBot · page opened and cross-checked: The source explains its porosity scoring model and emphasizes strand thickness, density and curl pattern. It provides explanations of product scores, not verification of efficacy.
BODY02 · Hair toner shades and formula index P3 / KILL
Task: Find brand shades, visual results and professional references / Professional hairstylists and consumers preparing for salon consultations
Candidate terms: hair toner chart; Redken Shades EQ toner formulas; Wella toner shade chart; beige blonde toner formulas; ash blonde toner shade comparison; hair toner before and after swatches; toner formula reference cards; salon toner consultation checklist
Observation: Results included Redken's formula library, official Wella PDFs, vocational textbooks, video tutorials and forum questions.
Conditional differentiation: Official formulas are well covered; test whether an index with version dates, starting hair color conditions and original links is easier to search than the source sites. Do not promise equivalence across brands.
Risks: Color differences, chemical damage and professional liability; do not provide personalized mixing ratios, developers or processing times.
Reviewed judgment: For a general formula generation project, free official libraries and the safety burden outweigh the differentiation observed; retain only the index hypothesis.
Next evidence: Check color chart copyright and version traceability, and identify specific lookup tasks that official libraries cannot fulfill.
RedkenPro · search snippet only: The source claims to offer, and does provide, a digital formula library filterable by tone, product line and result; this content type is already covered.
Wella · search snippet only: Provides a Color Charm product knowledge PDF and shade and formula references; this report does not reproduce chemical processing parameters.
BODY03 · Hair extension and wig length and density matching P1 / WATCH
Task: Compare length, weight, cap circumference and fullness before purchase / First-time wig or hair extension buyers
Candidate terms: wig density chart; wig density 150 vs 180; wig length chart for curly hair; hair extension weight guide; 20 inch vs 24 inch wig; wig cap size measurement guide; hair extension length by height; wig density for a natural look
Observation: Results included supplier size guides, salon extension length and density pages, and wig reference articles.
Conditional differentiation: Suppliers already cover length and density; test cross-brand comparisons with model height, actual cap circumference, and paired straightened and natural-state photos, making clear that density percentages cannot automatically be treated as a common standard.
Risks: Density definitions and photos vary by seller; do not guarantee the appearance when worn or provide installation instructions that risk damage.
Reviewed judgment: Size information is close to the purchase decision and measurement definitions can be checked, but this does not establish low competition.
Next evidence: Use US retail SKUs to check whether the measurement definitions of at least three sellers really prevent direct comparison, and review SERPs keyword by keyword.
Suvita Hair · page opened and cross-checked: Provides length, cap circumference, weight and density comparisons and a consultation entry point. The source says length is measured straightened and curls appear shorter. Its height and density recommendations reflect the seller's definitions and have not been independently tested.
BODY04 · Fragrance notes, layering and discontinued perfume alternatives P2 / WATCH
Task: Find similar scents and combinations using existing perfumes / Consumers seeking discontinued perfume alternatives or more fragrance combinations
Candidate terms: discontinued perfume alternatives; perfume layering combinations; vanilla perfume layering guide; perfume dupes by fragrance notes; perfumes similar to discontinued scents; musk and vanilla perfume layering; Baccarat Rouge 540 alternatives
Observation: The combined query mainly returned Reddit threads asking for perfume alternatives, along with editorial layering articles; brand sites were also opened directly to verify commercial supply, which does not prove their search rankings.
Conditional differentiation: Perfume alternatives and layering content already exist; test an alternatives list with official sources for discontinuation, separate similarities and differences, and options to sample. Current evidence has not confirmed that any specific fragrance is discontinued.
Risks: Overlapping notes do not mean identical scents; discontinuation rumors and trademark confusion are risks, and layering preferences are highly subjective.
Reviewed judgment: Actual alternative products exist, but the approach needs verifiable differences and discontinuation evidence, rather than simply stitching fragrance notes together automatically.
Next evidence: Verify the discontinuation status of 5 products first, then check whether alternative search results already provide differences and samples available to buy.
Dossier · page opened in research: Sells Ambery Saffron and labels it as inspired by Baccarat Rouge 540; similarity is brand positioning, not an independent blind-test finding.
Chez Pierre · page opened in research: Lists designer-inspired fragrances with top, middle and base notes and sells discovery sets; similarity and longevity are seller claims.
BODY05 · Fragrance sample collection costs and longevity logs P1 / WATCH
Task: Compare total sampling costs and record personally observed longevity / Budget-conscious fragrance enthusiasts and sample collectors
Candidate terms: perfume collection spreadsheet; perfume discovery set cost comparison; perfume sample cost per ml; perfume longevity tracker; perfume sample collection spreadsheet; perfume discovery set with voucher; perfume sample shipping cost; perfume wear test journal
Observation: Results included brand discovery set product pages, brand sampling guides, third-party redemption offer comparisons and community price tables.
Conditional differentiation: Price tables and redemption research already exist; test whether a spreadsheet combining costs including shipping, redemption terms, duplicate checks against owned samples and a personal longevity log reduces repeat purchases.
Risks: Longevity depends on environment and application amount; do not promise a number of hours. Store credit does not mean free, and listed prices can change.
Reviewed judgment: A small spreadsheet can validate a specific shopping task; existing redemption comparisons limit differentiation from a simple price roundup.
Next evidence: Check official shipping and redemption terms for 15 sets, and whether existing spreadsheets already include inventory deduplication and personal longevity logs.
Chez Pierre · page opened in research: Lists a discovery set of 10 samples at 5ml each for USD 49.99; taxes and shipping are calculated at checkout. Longevity descriptions come from the brand, not standardized testing.
Summer Hours · search snippet only: The search snippet shows a Discovery Set product and variant data; checkout was not completed, and redemption value and US shipping were not checked.
BODY06 · Choosing body lotions, antiperspirants and deodorants by texture P2 / WATCH
Task: Compare body care by texture, scent preferences and ingredient labels / Everyday consumers concerned about stickiness, clothing residue and scent
Candidate terms: non sticky body lotion; fast absorbing fragrance free body lotion; gel deodorant vs stick deodorant; baking soda free deodorant; body lotion texture comparison; deodorant that does not leave white marks; body lotion ingredient comparison
Observation: The broad query returned mixed results, including reference articles on lotions and deodorants; Native's brand product page was also read directly, without inferring search rankings from that visit.
Conditional differentiation: Brands already offer scent and sensitive-range shopping options; test whether absorption time, stickiness and residue on dark clothing recorded under consistent conditions support choices better than generic clean labels.
Risks: Do not describe aluminum-free, natural or baking-soda-free products as safer; distinguish deodorant from antiperspirant functions, and do not address skin diseases.
Reviewed judgment: The initial seed query was broad and the main competitive evidence is a brand homepage; this is not yet enough to prioritize texture comparison keywords.
Next evidence: Search texture and clothing-residue long tails separately, check US product labels, and assess the cost of repeatable testing.
Native · page opened in research: Sells body lotion and stick and spray deodorants, with fragrance-free and Sensitive Series navigation. Aluminum-free and clean are brand claims; the homepage is insufficient to confirm every product's complete INCI list or tested texture.
BODY07 · Self-tan undertones and shade planning for occasions P2 / WATCH
Task: Compare self-tan shades for photos and event planning / Self-tan buyers preparing for weddings, photos or events
Candidate terms: self tanner undertones; self tanner for cool undertones; self tanner for olive undertones; green vs violet based self tanner; self tan shade comparison; self tan for wedding photos; gradual tan vs express tan; self tan planning checklist
Observation: Results included community undertone questions, editorial facial self-tan tutorials and reference articles; the Bondi Sands US collection page was also opened directly to verify supply.
Conditional differentiation: Matching shades to skin tone is already a brand selling point; test whether photos under consistent lighting, clothing-transfer logs and user-entered event dates help with cross-brand selection. Existing brand coverage of event planning has not been verified.
Risks: Undertone photos may be inaccurate; do not promise irritation-free results, provide personalized usage prescriptions or equate self-tanning with sun protection.
Reviewed judgment: Shades link directly to products, but brands already offer matching capabilities; differentiation around events needs validation.
Next evidence: Check actual wedding and undertone long-tail results, and review existing brand planning tools and swatch conditions.
Bondi Sands USA · page opened in research: Lists four foam shades: Sapphire, Emerald, Magenta and Caramel. The brand says they are designed for different skin tones, positioning Sapphire for lighter skin and Magenta for olive to deeper skin; this does not guarantee individual results.
BODY08 · Buying comparisons for at-home LED and IPL beauty devices P3 / KILL
Task: Compare devices by purpose, specifications and after-sales support without assessing personal treatment suitability / Consumers considering at-home beauty devices
Candidate terms: LED mask comparison; IPL hair removal device comparison; LED face mask warranty comparison; IPL device skin tone compatibility chart; LED mask specifications comparison; IPL device replacement costs; LED mask vs IPL device
Observation: Results included independent device comparison tools, editorial reviews, community discussions, FDA documents and manufacturer IPL guides; an LED manufacturer's product page was also opened directly.
Conditional differentiation: Existing comparison tools already cover IPL compatibility and specifications; test an evidence table grouped by clear purpose, with item-by-item links to US model manuals and warranty terms, rather than ranking LED and IPL together for efficacy.
Risks: High risk: do not conflate LED and IPL purposes. Skin and hair color restrictions, eye risks and contraindications must cite the specific manual; no personalized treatment recommendations.
Reviewed judgment: General device recommendation sites already cover this area, and evidence and liability burdens are high; do not invest without the ability to verify specific models.
Next evidence: First confirm that US model records and current regulatory and manual records can be maintained over time; otherwise stop this product direction.
Beurer · search snippet only: An older manufacturer IPL buying guide whose snippet explicitly discusses device suitability; it cannot confirm specifications or authorization for currently sold US SKUs.
Omnilux · page opened in research: A Contour Face red-light LED mask product page exists. Product positioning is brand information; efficacy, current US regulatory status and suitability for use have not been independently verified.
MAKEUP01 · Foundation shade matching for deep and olive skin P1 / WATCH
Task: Research shade matches and compare purchase options / Consumers with deep, olive, or muted, grayish skin tones
Candidate terms: foundation for deep olive skin; foundation shades for deep olive skin; neutral olive foundation swatches; deep olive foundation shade chart; olive foundation shade comparison; foundation matches for muted olive skin; about face deep olive foundation swatches; cross brand foundation matches for olive skin
Observation: Search results include Reddit requests for shade-matching help and posts sharing experiences. Brand product pages were also opened directly to verify available offerings; this does not establish US rankings.
Conditional differentiation: Olive-toned products and shade-matching communities already exist. Test whether cross-brand dry-down swatches for deep olive skin under the same lighting, distinguishing depth from saturation, reduce uncertainty when choosing shades.
Risks: Privacy and consent for skin-tone photos; screen and photographic color differences; accurate photo-based shade matching cannot be guaranteed.
Reviewed judgment: The product-level need can be clearly described, and original comparisons offer verifiable differentiation; search volume and difficulty are unknown.
Next evidence: Check US search demand for specific brand-and-shade long-tail queries and existing swatch coverage under consistent lighting.
about-face · page opened and cross-checked: Source claim: The brand says it covers a range of skin tones and offers a natural, soft-focus finish. Observed: The product page lists shades including D1OLIVE, D2OLIVE, and D3OLIVE, plus a Shade Matching Quiz link; matching accuracy was not verified.
MAKEUP02 · Foundation color changes and layering compatibility P2 / WATCH
Task: Explain color changes or pilling and compare specific combinations / Consumers whose foundation changes color after drying, separates, or delivers an unexpected finish
Candidate terms: foundation oxidation; why does my foundation turn orange; foundation dry down swatch comparison; foundation oxidation before and after; primer and foundation compatibility chart; foundation separating over moisturizer; matte foundation over dewy primer; foundation finish comparison swatches
Observation: Search results include brand foundation content and consumer discussions of color changes. A supplementary brand-site search returned an oxidation explainer on the India site, not a US-specific search ranking.
Conditional differentiation: Brand explainers already exist. Test timed records of color differences and surface finish for specific foundation and primer combinations, rather than inferring compatibility solely from water-based or silicone-based labels.
Risks: Darkening after drying does not prove chemical oxidation; results across environments and individuals cannot be universally generalized; no skin diagnosis.
Reviewed judgment: Testing foundation combinations has value, but test samples, repeated experiments, and evidence of search demand for specific combinations have not been obtained. The ability to run tests alone does not justify prioritizing the project.
Next evidence: First distinguish whether users are searching for shade selection, dry-down darkening, or separation when layering, then check demand for specific product combinations.
Maybelline India · search snippet only: Source claim: The snippet says heavy moisturizers, facial oils, or sunscreen that has not fully absorbed may affect foundation performance. Observed: The brand offers an oxidation explainer; only the snippet was checked, and causation was not independently established.
MAKEUP03 · Lipstick and lip liner combinations P1 / WATCH
Task: Find specific lip combinations available to buy / Consumers with naturally dark lips or those seeking cross-brand combinations
Candidate terms: lip combos; lip liner and lipstick combinations; nude lip combos for dark lips; brown lip liner pink lipstick combo; cool toned lip liner combinations; lip liner matches for mauve lipstick; drugstore lip combos for deep skin; lip combo swatches on pigmented lips
Observation: Search results include editorial lip liner content. The Charlotte Tilbury combination guide was opened directly; it includes links to lip products and shade-selection tools.
Conditional differentiation: Brand combination guides already exist. Test cross-brand swatches of the same combinations grouped by natural lip color, specifying the number of layers and whether the natural lip color is concealed.
Risks: Image permissions and color differences; do not treat marketing claims such as lip plumping as verified facts.
Reviewed judgment: A small batch of original swatches could validate differentiation, but brand offerings already exist.
Next evidence: Check long-tail queries related to naturally dark lips and existing coverage showing the same combination on different natural lip colors.
Charlotte Tilbury · page opened in research: Source claim: The page covers lip liner and lipstick combinations. Observed: The brand guide is accessible and includes links such as Lipstick Shade Finder and Lip Kits; the tool was not actually run.
MAKEUP04 · Seasonal color makeup palettes P2 / WATCH
Task: Select makeup colors by seasonal color type / Makeup users who know or are exploring their seasonal color type
Candidate terms: soft summer makeup; soft summer makeup palette; deep winter eyeshadow palette; true autumn makeup colors; bright spring lipstick shades; soft autumn blush swatches; cool summer eyeshadow swatches; seasonal color makeup capsule
Observation: Search results return multiple seasonal color analysis tools, 12-season guides, color charts, and videos, showing an established supply of tools and content.
Conditional differentiation: Seasonal color analysis and makeup recommendations already exist. Test mappings based on real swatches of products sold in the US and comparisons between neighboring seasonal types, rather than building another general seasonal color classifier.
Risks: Seasonal color analysis is an aesthetic framework with subjective boundaries; photos or HEX colors cannot guarantee how products look on the face.
Reviewed judgment: Existing tools are plentiful; only differentiation through actual product shades and original swatches warrants further validation.
Next evidence: Check demand for specific seasonal types combined with product categories, and assess whether existing guides already satisfy purchase decisions.
BeautySpark · page opened in research: Source claim: Offers photo-based seasonal color analysis and AI eye makeup suggestions. Observed: The official site has explanations of the 12 seasons, seasonal color articles, and app download links; accuracy claims were not independently verified, and the app was not tested.
MAKEUP05 · Bridal makeup trial and touch-up planning P2 / WATCH
Task: Prepare for makeup trials, communication, and wedding-day execution / Brides doing their own makeup and people getting married who are coordinating with makeup artists
Candidate terms: bridal makeup checklist; bridal makeup trial checklist; wedding makeup touch up kit checklist; DIY bridal makeup timeline; bridal makeup artist question checklist; wedding makeup trial notes template; bridal party makeup schedule template; wedding makeup flash photography test
Observation: Search results return makeup artist countdown PDFs, wedding checklists, and makeup supply lists from training providers; templates already exist.
Conditional differentiation: Free countdown templates already exist. Test the value of one handoff sheet connecting trial product shades, on-site and flash photos, touch-up responsibilities, and timing.
Risks: Many free alternatives exist; makeup appearance varies with lighting and photography; do not extend into cosmetic procedures or skin treatments.
Reviewed judgment: A handoff sheet can be delivered on a small scale, but general checklists already exist.
Next evidence: Compare whether existing free checklists cover product shades and photo reviews, and validate willingness to pay for templates.
Makeup & Hair Artistry by Lauren · search snippet only: Source claim: Offers a concise bridal hair and makeup countdown checklist. Observed: The brand PDF's search snippet was readable, and opening it identified an eight-page PDF; the individual items were not fully checked.
MAKEUP06 · Makeup tutorials for mature and hooded eyes P2 / WATCH
Task: Learn reproducible eyeshadow and eyeliner techniques / Mature eye makeup beginners and users with hooded eyes; these are not synonymous groups
Candidate terms: hooded eye makeup; eyeshadow placement for mature hooded eyes; eyeliner for mature hooded eyes; five minute makeup for hooded eyes; hooded eye makeup with eyes open; matte eyeshadow tutorial for older women; hooded eye makeup with glasses; simple eye makeup for mature beginners
Observation: Search results return media tutorials, YouTube demonstrations, and forum questions. Supplementary brand searches confirm that tutorials for mature and hooded eyes already exist.
Conditional differentiation: Established brand tutorials already exist. Test whether slow demonstrations with eyes open, grouped by visible lid space and glasses-wearing situations, plus swatches of the same shades on multiple skin tones, are easier to reproduce.
Risks: Do not infer eye shape from age; avoid age-shaming or medical correction language; do not promise universal results.
Reviewed judgment: Original demonstrations may have value, but general tutorials are already widely available.
Next evidence: Check long-tail demand around specific technique difficulties and the extent of existing video coverage.
Look Fabulous Forever · search snippet only: Source claim: The brand tutorial demonstrates long-wearing eye makeup and says its products reduce migration and creasing. Observed: A brand video tutorial exists; only the search snippet was checked, without watching the full video or verifying results.
MAKEUP07 · Discontinued makeup alternatives and dupes P1 / WATCH
Task: Find replacements for discontinued shades or compare lower-priced alternatives / Users of older products and budget-conscious consumers
Candidate terms: discontinued makeup; discontinued lipstick shade replacement; makeup dupe swatch comparison; discontinued blush dupes; lipstick dupes by color and finish; eyeshadow palette dupe comparison; current alternatives to discontinued makeup; makeup dupes with wear test photos
Observation: Search results include discussions of discontinued products, editorial replacement lists, and user-created tools. A direct check of Temptalia confirms an existing dupe database and swatch comparison links.
Conditional differentiation: Large dupe and swatch databases already exist. Test differences in color, sheen, and wear between discontinued formulas and alternatives currently sold in the US, with dated stock checks.
Risks: The condition of older samples may alter their color; do not recommend using expired products; similarity does not mean identical formulas or performance.
Reviewed judgment: Questions about specific older shades suit small-scale validation, but access to original reference samples is a barrier.
Next evidence: First verify that products are actually discontinued rather than out of stock, then check shade-specific demand and the update dates of existing alternatives.
Temptalia · page opened and cross-checked: Source claim: Offers product dupes and comparisons of two palettes. Observed: The page has The Dupe List, a swatch gallery, and comparison links; current stock and formulas for each recommendation were not verified.
MAKEUP08 · Makeup brush cleaning and travel organization P3 / KILL
Task: Organize brush cleaning, drying, and travel packing / People who use makeup while traveling and consumers seeking a simpler makeup bag
Candidate terms: makeup brush travel; travel makeup brush organizer; how to pack clean makeup brushes; makeup brush drying holder for travel; clean and dirty makeup brush storage; minimal travel makeup kit checklist; makeup brush cleaning tracker; travel makeup bag packing checklist
Observation: Broad searches mix product and guide content. A Sigma brush-care product page was also opened directly; this does not establish search rankings or the size of demand for organization.
Conditional differentiation: Brush-care tools already exist. The proposal is to photograph travel packing that separates clean brushes awaiting drying from used brushes, but general checklists offer weak differentiation and do not yet support a standalone website direction.
Risks: Organization or a visibly clean appearance must not be equated with sterilization; make no health benefit claims; avoid drifting into a generic product roundup.
Reviewed judgment: Provisionally reject a standalone general checklist project: original differentiation and paid value are weak. This is not a claim that the market does not exist.
Next evidence: Reassess only after identifying a specific size-compatibility problem and a gap in existing offerings.
Sigma Beauty · page opened in research: Source claim: The page title positions Dry’n Shape Spa as a compact brush-care tool. Observed: The brand product page is accessible; travel suitability, cleaning effectiveness, and actual capacity were not verified.
NAIL01 · Press-on nail brand, shape and size matching P2 / WATCH
Task: Check sizes, brands and nail shapes before purchase / Press-on nail buyers and custom nail sellers
Candidate terms: press on nail size; press on nail size chart by brand; short almond press on nail sizing; press on nail width chart in mm; press on nail sizing kit comparison; press on nails for flat nail beds; press on nail size conversion chart; press on nail sizes by shape
Observation: Results included brand sizing guides, millimeter databases and independent cross-brand reference pages.
Conditional differentiation: Existing cross-brand databases already cover the core function; a testable gap is to limit the scope to two specific molds, measure inner curve and width consistently, and clearly flag cases where sizes cannot be converted.
Risks: Brand sizes are not directly interchangeable; similar databases already exist, and maintenance and physical measurement costs may exceed returns.
Reviewed judgment: After opening Press-On Fit Lab, the main agent confirmed existing versioned brand size charts, ten-finger matching and brand rule tools. This was downgraded from a prioritized lightweight tool in the previous round to conditional monitoring. Continue only with measured data others lack or a seller workflow.
Next evidence: Check whether the two brands' official sizing fields are sufficient; do not publish definitive conversions when inner-curve data is missing.
MOONLEE · page opened and cross-checked: Source claim: sizing differs by nail shape. Actually displayed: a database of length, width and inner-curve measurements, plus a link to a measuring ruler product.
Press-On Fit Lab · page opened and cross-checked: Displays brand size charts with versions and sources, including brands still missing millimeter data; sizes cannot be converted for every brand.
NAIL02 · Press-on nail designs by occasion and nail bed size P2 / WATCH
Task: Choose styles by wedding or everyday occasion and nail bed requirements / Brides, event attendees and buyers needing specific sizes
Candidate terms: bridal press on nails; wedding press on nails for wide nail beds; short bridal press on nails; French tip press on nails for wide nail beds; press on nails for small nail beds; prom press on nails for short nails; office friendly press on nail designs; custom size bridal press on nails
Observation: Results included wide nail bed buying guides, wedding product pages, custom sizing sellers and community discussions; occasion and sizing information is scattered.
Conditional differentiation: Wedding products and wide nail bed guides already exist; test a small, manually curated selection that simultaneously filters for explicit millimeter dimensions, short length and wedding designs.
Risks: Design preferences are subjective and stock changes quickly; fit cannot be inferred from product photos.
Reviewed judgment: Purchase intent exists, but demand for combined keywords and access to specification data remain unproven.
Next evidence: Verify at least five products that meet both the target occasion and verifiable width requirements.
NEEVANAILS · search snippet only: Displays a Bridal Veil white almond-shaped press-on nail product; the snippet includes wedding tags and XS nail bed information. The full page could not be opened.
SHANGMENG · search snippet only: Displays buying content on brands and shapes for wide nail beds, including a related square-nail guide; this is not independent fit testing.
NAIL03 · Similar gel polish shades and color palettes P1 / WATCH
Task: Find alternatives to a known shade and compare opacity and color combinations / Nail technicians and gel polish buyers
Candidate terms: gel polish color chart; gel polish color dupes; DND gel polish color chart; gel polish color matching guide; sheer pink gel polish comparison; milky white gel polish swatches; gel polish palette for neutral nails; gel polish swatches by number
Observation: The initial combined query included unrelated color palette content; follow-up searches returned official DND swatch products, supplier catalogs, swatch videos and discussions.
Conditional differentiation: Physical swatches and palette photos are already well represented; test a few cross-brand similar shades photographed with the same base color, number of coats and lighting, clearly describing them as similar rather than identical.
Risks: Screens, base colors and coat counts affect appearance; asset copyright is a risk. Do not provide advice on mixing formulas or individual safety.
Reviewed judgment: Original photos can provide concrete differentiation, but current sources do not establish any dupe matches.
Next evidence: First verify whether one shade pair remains similar under standardized photography conditions, then decide whether to expand.
DND Gel · search snippet only: Displays a physical DND Duo swatch product with shade numbers; the source cautions that screen colors may differ.
DND Gel · search snippet only: Source claim: the swatchboard is hand-painted. Actually displayed: a 36-color Jelly swatchboard product and nail images with shade numbers; this is not a cross-brand similar-shade test.
NAIL04 · Nail art placement and stencil tutorials P2 / WATCH
Task: Learn pattern placement and practice for different nail surface sizes / Nail art beginners and tutorial creators
Candidate terms: nail art practice sheets; nail art placement guide; printable nail art practice sheets; French tip stencil placement; nail art stencils for short nails; heart nail stencil tutorial; nail art design mapping template; nail art stencil sizing guide
Observation: Results included creators' hands-on stencil videos as well as unrelated stencil content; visible tutorials show this is not a new category.
Conditional differentiation: Free videos already cover stencil application; test short-nail pattern placement practice sheets at a verified print scale, with original static instructions and a print calibration box.
Risks: Older videos do not establish current popularity; do not copy others' designs, video screenshots or commercial templates.
Reviewed judgment: The small deliverable is clear, but free tutorials are strong substitutes and demand for printables needs validation.
Next evidence: Check whether current results for candidate keywords primarily serve learning intent, and verify the printed scale.
The Base Coat / Alicia Beazley · search snippet only: Creator source: demonstrates applying a heart-shaped vinyl stencil from bare nail to finished design, with products listed in the description. The video was not watched and the full page could not be opened.
Valbeauty and co · search snippet only: Creator source: the nail stencil tutorial description lists stencils and polishes and discloses some gifted products; only the search snippet was checked.
NAIL05 · Lash cluster mapping by eye shape P2 / WATCH
Task: Choose lash layouts by eye shape and available cluster lengths / Consumers using lash clusters
Candidate terms: lash mapping; lash cluster map for hooded eyes; natural lash cluster map; cat eye lash cluster map; doll eye lash cluster map; lash cluster map for almond eyes; lash cluster mapping template; short lash cluster mapping guide
Observation: Results included free mapping tools, supplier brand eye shape guides, creator videos and eye shape discussion threads.
Conditional differentiation: Free tools already cover generic eye shape mapping; test original mapping cards using only the lengths supplied in one actual kit, clearly labeling inner and outer corners and alternative lengths.
Risks: Eye shape labels do not guarantee results; do not infer individual suitability, adhesive application methods or wear duration.
Reviewed judgment: Free coverage of the broad category is clear; only product tray constraints offer a small, testable distinction.
Next evidence: Compare whether existing tools already support all length constraints of the target kit; if they do, abandon this proposed distinction.
Lash Map Lab · page opened in research: Displays a free customizable lash cluster mapping tool and multiple layouts, including natural and cat-eye pages; interactive export was not tested.
Swaniya · page opened in research: Displays a supplier guide explaining cluster lengths and mapping by eye shape; styling recommendations reflect the brand's views.
NAIL06 · Cross-brand lash curl and length comparisons P2 / WATCH
Task: Check brand curl labels and length definitions before purchasing / Professional lash artists and supply buyers
Candidate terms: lash curl chart; lash curl comparison chart; C curl vs D curl lashes; CC curl vs D curl lashes; lash extension length comparison chart; lash curl differences between brands; L curl vs M curl lashes; lash tray curl comparison
Observation: Results included brand curl guides, supplier curl comparison PDFs and product catalogs, mixed with eyelash curler and mascara content.
Conditional differentiation: Curl comparison materials already exist; test side-view photos of physical products from two brands with the same stated curl and length, retaining catalog versions and measurement definitions to address inconsistent specifications.
Risks: Older catalogs may be outdated; stated curls are not a uniform geometric standard. Do not recommend individual lash loads or extension plans.
Reviewed judgment: Suppliers already offer cross-brand curl materials; verify physical measurements and catalog versions first, rather than treating this as new demand.
Next evidence: Confirm the current catalog version and record whether each brand measures length along the curve or as a projection; label it unknown if unclear.
Swaniya · page opened in research: Displays a supplier's curl explanations and comparison table; brand descriptions of effects are not independent testing.
Krisnails / Lovely comparison catalog · page opened in research: Supplier-hosted material displays curl comparison diagrams for LOVELY, LASHY and RILI; it supports only the catalog's scope, not an industry-wide standard.
NAIL07 · Brow shape, shade and stencil matching P2 / WATCH
Task: Choose shapes, stencils and colors for temporary brow makeup / Consumers using brow powders, brow stamps and reusable stencils
Candidate terms: eyebrow stencil; eyebrow stencil size guide; eyebrow stencil for thin brows; eyebrow stencil for straight brows; brow stamp shade guide; taupe vs soft brown brow color; eyebrow stencil for short brows; eyebrow shape mapping template
Observation: Results included temporary brow makeup guides and brow transfer brand content; follow-up searches found brow stamp products, stencil instructions and shade quizzes.
Conditional differentiation: Stencil matching and shade selection services already exist; test neutral comparisons of actual stencil lengths and arch heights across kits, plus erasable trial-drawing logs, without duplicating brand quizzes.
Risks: Aesthetics are subjective and image color differences can be substantial; limited to temporary makeup, excluding permanent makeup, dyes and hair loss advice.
Reviewed judgment: Physical specifications may help, but existing brand services are strong and cross-brand demand is unconfirmed.
Next evidence: Confirm whether both stencil kits publish dimensions; if public information already meets the need, do not create duplicate selection content.
Madluvv · page opened in research: Displays a brow stamp kit with nine stencils, alignment instructions and shade selection support. The brand page gives inconsistent shade counts, so no single total is adopted.
Brow Again · search snippet only: Displays a brand guide to choosing temporary brow transfers by facial contours, color and desired style; this does not guarantee individual results.
NAIL08 · Printable nail and lash client aftercare cards P3 / KILL
Task: Download branded client care instruction cards / Independent nail technicians, lash artists and small studios
Candidate terms: lash aftercare card; nail aftercare card template; lash aftercare card template; press on nail care card template; gel nail aftercare printable; lash extension aftercare printable; editable nail aftercare card; nail and lash aftercare card bundle
Observation: Results included Etsy digital templates, brand digital downloads and free branded generators; direct free alternatives already exist.
Conditional differentiation: Free options already cover ordinary aftercare cards and branded exports; the only unproven distinction is a combined nail and lash service card based on the studio's actual product instructions, rather than another generic template.
Risks: Instructions for different adhesives and products cannot be standardized into one set; excludes legal consent forms, medical advice and promises of care outcomes.
Reviewed judgment: Reject the generic aftercare-card SEO product direction because free brand packs and generators exist; this does not imply no demand for any custom services.
Next evidence: Reassess only when a specific need for combined nail and lash service copy emerges that free tools cannot meet.
Paris Lash Academy · page opened in research: Displays a digital download product for lash client aftercare cards; product data in the search snippet lists a zero price, but download and checkout were not verified.
Aftercardly · page opened in research: Source claim: free branded care card generation and export without registration, with optional Pro. The page displays this service, but export was not tested; its consent form feature is outside this research scope.
PRO01 · Lash and nail service costs and add-on pricing P1 / WATCH
Task: Calculate actual supplies, labor time and earnings per service / Independent lash artists, nail technicians and small beauty studios
Candidate terms: lash pricing calculator; lash fill pricing calculator; lash extension cost per service; nail tech pricing calculator; nail art pricing calculator; press on nail pricing calculator; waxing service cost calculator; beauty service profit calculator
Observation: Results included editable supplier pricing spreadsheets and free online calculators; basic functions are already covered.
Conditional differentiation: Basic calculations do not differentiate the product; test whether gaps remain around complex add-ons, effective hourly earnings for lash fills versus full sets, and delivering client quotes.
Risks: Many free alternatives; gross margin and markup are easily confused, and estimates must not be presented as profit guarantees
Reviewed judgment: The buyer and deliverable are clear, but this is not an unserved tool category; validate a specific step in the quoting process.
Next evidence: Search long tails such as fill, nail art and press on separately, and compare whether free results already generate client-ready quotes.
TuneHustle · page opened and cross-checked: Provides free pricing tools for nails, lashes, brows and waxing, incorporating supplies, labor time and profit factors.
Ladybug Lashes · search snippet only: The supplier offers a lash service pricing spreadsheet; the search title still says free, but this report does not infer its current price from that.
PRO02 · Beauty supply inventory and opened-batch tracking P1 / WATCH
Task: Separate retail stock from service consumption, and manage batches and replenishment / Independent estheticians and lash studios
Candidate terms: esthetician inventory spreadsheet; salon inventory spreadsheet; spa inventory template; backbar inventory spreadsheet; lash adhesive inventory tracker; salon product expiry tracker; esthetician retail inventory template; salon reorder spreadsheet
Observation: Results included Etsy digital spreadsheets and free inventory sheets from software vendors; established software already handles automatic inventory deductions.
Conditional differentiation: Do not claim automatic inventory deduction is unserved; test whether an opened-batch ledger that requires no booking software change suits solo businesses.
Risks: Data entry effort may outweigh benefits; reminders cannot establish that a product is still safe
Reviewed judgment: Searching backbar inventory spreadsheet without a qualifier included bar inventory software. Add salon or esthetician to avoid counting demand from another industry as beauty demand.
Next evidence: Check separate demand for the backbar, adhesive and expiry keyword groups, and existing booking software features.
Flowesce · page opened and cross-checked: Provides a free inventory spreadsheet and describes software features for deducting service consumption and tracking batch expiry dates.
Etsy esthetician inventory collection · search snippet only: Lists digital beauty inventory templates; aggregated page reviews cannot be treated as sales of an individual product.
PRO03 · Bridal makeup team quotes and schedules P2 / WATCH
Task: Create quotes and event-day schedules using party size, trials, travel and team size / Mobile bridal makeup artists and small bridal makeup teams
Candidate terms: bridal makeup quote template; mobile makeup artist quote template; bridal party hair and makeup schedule; wedding makeup timeline calculator; makeup artist travel fee calculator; bridal makeup invoice template; bridal party makeup cost calculator; makeup artist booking form template
Observation: Results included quote templates sold by makeup artists and quoting products that already cover party size, trials and travel.
Conditional differentiation: Standalone quoting is already covered; demand for linking quotes to the actual work schedule of multiple makeup artists needs validation.
Risks: Incorrect scheduling can disrupt important events; contracts and deposit terms need regional review
Reviewed judgment: Autocomplete for bridal makeup quote mostly returned inspirational quotes; adding template brought results back to price quotes. Quoting and scheduling already have separate offerings; demand for linking them remains unproven.
Next evidence: Search timeline and team scheduling separately, and check the coverage of existing wedding tools.
Anais J Beauty · page opened and cross-checked: An actual makeup business website sells a bridal quote template; revenue has not been verified.
Quotify · search snippet only: The page already shows quote generation by occasion, party size, trials, add-ons and travel.
Beauty on Demand · search snippet only: An actual service provider already has an article on wedding hair and makeup durations and schedule templates; scheduling content cannot be treated as a new category.
PRO04 · Appointment cancellation policies and no-show losses P3 / KILL
Task: Generate policy wording for communication and estimate the impact of missed appointments / Small beauty salons
Candidate terms: salon cancellation policy generator; salon no show policy template; lash appointment cancellation policy; nail salon deposit policy template; salon no show cost calculator; beauty appointment reminder template; salon late arrival policy template; salon cancellation notice template
Observation: Multiple dedicated free generators already cover multiple formats, deposits, no-shows, late arrivals and printable output.
Conditional differentiation: Generic generators lack differentiation; only specific platform integrations or professionally reviewed regional versions may add value.
Risks: Legal and payment authorization risks; templates cannot guarantee enforceability
Reviewed judgment: Reject the generic policy generator as a solo builder's first site, without rejecting search demand for this category.
Next evidence: Stop without specific compliance and distribution advantages; do not copy merely because a keyword appears narrow.
Tavix · search snippet only: Provides free policy generation in four formats: website, front desk, social media and WhatsApp.
Silver Taza Labs · search snippet only: Already provides no-show loss estimates and editable policy documents; the page includes regional applicability restrictions.
PRO05 · Booth rental versus commission business comparisons P3 / WATCH
Task: Compare income and costs under booth rental and commission arrangements / Hair and beauty professionals preparing to work independently
Candidate terms: booth rent vs commission calculator; salon suite break even calculator; salon chair rental cost calculator; hairstylist commission calculator; salon booth rental budget template; independent hairstylist expense spreadsheet; salon suite startup cost spreadsheet; hairstylist hourly earnings calculator
Observation: Results included multiple dedicated free tools calculating from employee and owner perspectives; pre-tax and after-tax definitions differ.
Conditional differentiation: Only specific templates clearly distinguishing owners from practitioners, actual costs and pre-tax figures warrant further research; this is not a gap in free tools.
Risks: Financial and tax definitions can mislead; a formula being visible on a website does not mean its correctness has been verified
Reviewed judgment: Existing competition is dense and maintaining accuracy imposes a high burden.
Next evidence: Check narrower terms such as suite startup; do not launch a project without unique cost data.
Lutily · search snippet only: Provides booth rental versus commission comparisons and explicitly excludes taxes, retirement savings and benefits.
BuildFigure · search snippet only: Compares two revenue models for one chair from the business operator's perspective.
PRO06 · Small-batch beauty product costs and batch scaling P2 / WATCH
Task: Calculate ingredient and packaging costs at different batch sizes / Handmade beauty product sellers and small brand operators
Candidate terms: cosmetic formulation cost calculator; skincare product pricing calculator; cosmetic batch size calculator; cosmetic ingredient cost spreadsheet; lip balm cost calculator; body butter pricing calculator; cosmetic packaging cost calculator; beauty product margin calculator
Observation: Results included a directly relevant cosmetic formulation cost calculator showing ingredients, quantities and unit prices.
Conditional differentiation: Research a specialized cost spreadsheet combining packaging, waste and different purchasing sizes; do not assume professional formulation software lacks this coverage.
Risks: Cost accounting does not establish formula safety or legal saleability; formula design is outside this work
Reviewed judgment: The function is clear but must remain within business accounting to avoid high-risk formulation recommendations.
Next evidence: Check demand and professional software alternatives for specific products or tasks such as lip balm, packaging and small batch.
ZEBE Cost · page opened and cross-checked: Displays cosmetic formula cost calculations and an ingredient cost table; the page mixes mass and volume units, so its formulas should not be copied directly.
PRO07 · Local beauty professional directories for specific skills and client needs P2 / WATCH
Task: Find local services matching specific skills, hair types or privacy requirements / Consumers with specific service needs; businesses may be the paying customers
Candidate terms: find a curly hair stylist; curly hair stylist near me; bridal makeup artist for dark skin near me; private hijab friendly hair salon; Japanese head spa near me; Korean lash lift near me; Russian manicure near me; natural hair bridal stylist near me
Observation: Curly hair service queries returned brand training-system directories, independent directories and local community questions; other combined service keywords have not been searched individually.
Conditional differentiation: Start with one city and one hard-to-filter requirement, verifying prices, acceptance of new clients, portfolio sources and privacy facilities; this may be more useful than an empty nationwide directory.
Risks: Competition from maps and platforms; mass-produced thin city pages; do not fabricate reviews or business locations
Reviewed judgment: Transaction intent is clear, but local operations are the main cost; directory code alone is insufficient.
Next evidence: Choose a city, then check map results and service supply; defer if local verification capability is lacking.
DevaCurl Finder · search snippet only: Provides a finder for curly hairstylists and product retailers.
The Curl Institute · search snippet only: The directory claims to vet stylists from multiple training systems; vetting quality has not been independently verified.
PRO08 · Beauty salon content calendars and marketing assets P3 / KILL
Task: Quickly prepare salon marketing content and client communications / Small beauty salons short on design and content time
Candidate terms: salon social media content calendar template; nail tech Instagram content ideas; esthetician content calendar; lash artist Instagram templates; beauty salon price increase announcement; salon rebooking message template; salon referral card template; beauty salon email newsletter template
Observation: Results included niche template sellers, alternative templates from Canva and ClickUp, and supplier brand resources.
Conditional differentiation: A generic calendar is weak; test only whether deliverables tied to a salon's actual portfolio and specific open appointment slots provide greater value.
Risks: Undifferentiated supply, easy substitution by AI, exaggerated results and image copyright issues
Reviewed judgment: Reject a generic AI copywriting first-site concept without an advantage in professional assets, while retaining the possibility of delivery services for actual salons.
Next evidence: Validate when there is a specific client and portfolio material; the presence of template in a keyword does not establish an untapped market.
The GelBottle Academy · search snippet only: Provides business resources for nail technicians, including pricing, content calendars and social media templates.
ClickUp · search snippet only: Offers a social media content plan template for salons and spas.
SKIN01 · Skincare reformulations and version comparisons P1 / WATCH
Task: Confirm whether a formula has changed before repurchasing / Repeat buyers and shoppers who exclude specific ingredients
Candidate terms: skincare reformulation checker; skincare formula change tracker; old vs new moisturizer ingredients; how to identify a skincare reformulation; Glossier Balm Dotcom original vs vegan formula; skincare ingredient list version history; reformulated face cream comparison; same skincare product different ingredients
Observation: Search results return forum discussions of reformulations and media comparisons of old and new formulas. A supplementary check of the brand's official site found a product page announcing the return of the original formula.
Conditional differentiation: Brands already make version announcements. The proposal is to add historical INCI differences with region, packaging photos, and collection dates; it has not been established that no one provides this.
Risks: Old stock and regional versions are easily confused; differences in ingredient order do not directly establish changes in efficacy
Reviewed judgment: The generic skincare reformulation query returned no autocomplete suggestions; a branded Glossier query returned reformulation suggestions. Prioritize brand + specific product + version research, and do not assume that a generic checker already has search volume.
Next evidence: First verify that each of 5 products has two dated first-party ingredient lists, then check US metrics for brand-specific long-tail queries.
Glossier · search snippet only: Source claim: The original formula is back. Available offering: A Balm Dotcom product page and ingredient information; this does not confirm the complete version history or the version currently sold in the US.
Glossier US · page opened and cross-checked: The lead agent confirmed that the US product page is readable; this establishes only that a current product page and ingredient information exist, not a complete historical version archive.
GlowKit · page opened and cross-checked: A reformulation-tracking guide already exists, showing that version archiving is not an uncovered topic; the completeness of historical information was not verified.
SKIN02 · Ingredient exclusions for Korean skincare P1 / WATCH
Task: Filter a shopping shortlist by excluding specified ingredients / US consumers buying Korean products with specific ingredient preferences
Candidate terms: korean moisturizer without niacinamide; fragrance free Korean moisturizer; Korean sunscreen without niacinamide; Korean skincare without essential oils; snail mucin free Korean skincare; Korean toner without denatured alcohol; Korean serum without fragrance; Korean moisturizer without shea butter
Observation: Results return free INCI checkers that accept pasted ingredients and output labels, not just shopping lists.
Conditional differentiation: General checkers already exist. The proposal is a Korean skincare shortlist that excludes multiple ingredients simultaneously and links each entry to the INCI list for the version sold in the US; exclusion preferences must not be presented as safety guarantees.
Risks: Fragrance-free does not mean allergy-free; automated labels and outdated lists may mislead
Reviewed judgment: Purchase constraints are clear and could be validated with a small directory, but free tools already compete.
Next evidence: Verify the ingredient lists for 20 US versions and the accuracy of exclusions, then check actual search demand for specific exclusion combinations.
Corea Skincare · page opened in research: Source claim: Offers analysis of allergens, irritants, and interactions. Available offering: A free page for checking pasted INCI lists; the scientific accuracy of its labels was not verified.
SkinSort Korean filter · page opened and cross-checked: The lead agent confirmed an existing ingredient-exclusion filter page for Korean moisturizers; multi-criteria filtering must not be broadly described as an unmet need.
SKIN03 · Skincare application order and product combinations P3 / KILL
Task: Look up application order and organize products already owned / Skincare users with multiple serums who want to simplify their routines
Candidate terms: skincare routine order; skincare layering order chart; AM PM skincare routine template; serum before or after moisturizer; skincare ingredient compatibility chart; how to organize multiple serums; skincare routine duplicate ingredients; skincare product layering checklist
Observation: Results return multiple routine checkers, compatibility checkers, and routine creators; free interactive offerings already exist.
Conditional differentiation: Multiple order and conflict tools already exist. The remaining distinction is a printable sheet that cites brand instructions and explicitly marks unknowns, which is currently insufficient to support another general checker.
Risks: Simple conflict charts can overgeneralize; do not provide diagnostic or treatment judgments about individual tolerance
Reviewed judgment: Provisionally reject the general routine-order checker direction because it substantially overlaps existing offerings and requires ongoing rule maintenance.
Next evidence: Reassess only after finding a verifiable gap in instructions for a specific brand or evidence of paid demand for a template.
The K-Beauty Plug · page opened in research: Source claim: Checks application order and ingredient conflicts. Available offering: A routine report card page requiring no registration; no real products were submitted for testing.
Skincare Routine · search snippet only: Source claim: Can check routine steps and potential conflicts for non-DECIEM products. Available offering: An introduction page for a skincare routine app.
SKIN04 · Sunscreen skin feel and white cast comparisons P2 / WATCH
Task: Compare products by skin feel, white cast, and UV filter labels / Consumers focused on performance under makeup and appearance on deep skin tones
Candidate terms: sunscreen white cast; sunscreen white cast comparison on dark skin; matte vs dewy sunscreen finish; Korean sunscreen texture comparison; mineral sunscreen tint comparison; sunscreen filter comparison chart; sunscreen pilling under makeup comparison; lightweight sunscreen finish guide
Observation: Results return filterable sunscreen directories, skin-tone testing articles, white cast explainers, and review pages.
Conditional differentiation: Existing directories already cover these fields. The proposal is to add original photographic comparisons with consistent lighting, skin tones, base makeup conditions, and product versions; differentiation depends on reproducible hands-on testing.
Risks: Subjective skin feel does not represent everyone's experience; do not infer protection levels or compliance across regional regulations from skin feel
Reviewed judgment: Aggregating fields alone lacks differentiation; original photography may have value but costs more.
Next evidence: Check the transparency of existing directories' testing, calculate the cost of photographing 6 products under identical conditions, and validate long-tail demand.
The Sunscreen Index · page opened in research: Source claim: Compares UV filters, texture, finish, and white cast. Available offering: A structured sunscreen directory with filtering links; its classifications and testing methods were not independently verified.
SKIN05 · Batch codes, shelf life, and opening-date records P2 / WATCH
Task: Understand labels and record opening dates / Consumers with multiple skincare products in their inventory
Candidate terms: skincare expiration; skincare expiration date checker; how to read a cosmetic batch code; skincare period after opening symbol; unopened skincare shelf life; skincare opening date tracker; cosmetic batch code vs expiration date; face cream PAO label meaning
Observation: Results return batch-code lookup tools, PAO label explanations, historical regulatory documents, and encyclopedia pages; batch-code decoding services already exist.
Conditional differentiation: Batch-code lookups already exist. The proposal is to archive packaging labels, brand instructions, and user-recorded opening dates side by side, displaying unknowns rather than estimating a safe-use expiration date.
Risks: A batch code alone cannot prove authenticity or safe usability; labeling rules differ between the US and other markets
Reviewed judgment: Reading labels is a clear task, but general batch-code decoding cannot serve as reliable differentiation.
Next evidence: Verify the coverage of brands' public instructions and establish whether users need ongoing records or a one-time free lookup.
Cosmetics Batch · page opened in research: Source claim: Looks up cosmetic batch codes and explains PAO. Available offering: Brand batch-code lookup links and period-after-opening guidance; decoding accuracy and brand authorization are unknown.
SKIN06 · Project Pan, inventory, and cost per use P2 / WATCH
Task: Manage inventory, product use-up goals, and actual cost per use / Skincare stockpilers and participants in low-buy plans and Project Pan
Candidate terms: project pan makeup; skincare inventory spreadsheet; project pan skincare tracker template; skincare cost per use calculator; beauty empties tracking spreadsheet; skincare no buy tracker; skincare collection budget template; skincare usage log printable
Observation: Results return official inventory and Project Pan app sites, along with community discussions sharing spreadsheets and usage-count logs.
Conditional differentiation: Existing apps already cover costs and inventory. Test demand for a simple, exportable spreadsheet that requires no registration and tracks facial skincare only.
Risks: Manual data-entry burden and free spreadsheet alternatives; avoid encouraging continued use of unsuitable products simply to finish them
Reviewed judgment: Beautistics already offers inventory, cost tracking, and export; removing registration or switching to a spreadsheet does not automatically create sufficient differentiation to justify payment.
Next evidence: Compare existing free spreadsheet features and test whether a template preview generates download or purchase intent.
Beautistics · page opened in research: Source claim: Manages skincare inventory, Project Pan, periods after opening, and cost per use. Available offering: An app introduction and download links; installation, payment, and retention were not verified.
Project Pan · search snippet only: Source claim: Offers tracking for empties and products. Available offering: The product's official site; user reviews are not treated as evidence of actual retention or revenue.
SKIN07 · Emerging skincare ingredient products and claims P2 / WATCH
Task: Understand differences between products featuring emerging ingredients and the brands' claims / Skincare consumers interested in ingredients such as PDRN and ectoin
Candidate terms: PDRN serum; PDRN vs ectoin skincare; PDRN serum ingredient comparison; ectoin serum comparison; PDRN skincare product guide; ectoin vs hyaluronic acid serum; vegan PDRN serum ingredients; PDRN serum marketing claims explained
Observation: Results return ingredient-combination content and media articles about popular ingredients. Supplementary brand-restricted searches return Anua PDRN and INKEY ectoin product and educational pages.
Conditional differentiation: Brand educational content and combination articles already exist. The proposal uses item-by-item citations to distinguish product facts, brand claims, and unverified comparisons; media buzzwords do not establish rising demand.
Risks: Research on injections cannot be applied to topical cosmetics; do not provide treatment advice, comparative efficacy judgments, or individualized usage recommendations
Reviewed judgment: Actual products exist, but the trend is unknown and evidence review is costly.
Next evidence: Obtain regional search time series and check whether product claims can be traced to studies of the specific formulas.
Anua US · search snippet only: Source claim / available offering: The US official site lists a PDRN Hyaluronic Acid Capsule 100 Serum product page; this only establishes that the product exists, not its efficacy or a trend.
The INKEY List · search snippet only: Source claim: Explains ectoin and product selling points. Available offering: An ingredient education page linking to a serum; brand promotion is not independent verification of efficacy.
SKIN08 · Discontinued skincare alternatives and similar formulas P2 / WATCH
Task: Find alternatives to discontinued products or products that no longer satisfy / Repeat buyers of the original products and price-sensitive consumers
Candidate terms: skincare dupes; discontinued moisturizer alternatives; skincare dupe finder by ingredients; discontinued face serum replacement; moisturizer dupes with similar texture; fragrance free skincare dupes; old formula skincare alternatives; discontinued cleanser replacement guide
Observation: Results return multiple formula-similarity tools and discontinued-product alternative lists; existing platforms explicitly mention discontinued products as a use case.
Conditional differentiation: Existing tools already cover discontinued-product alternatives. Test only pages for individual products with evidence of older versions, US availability, and descriptions of tested texture, rather than another general finder.
Risks: Similar ingredients do not prove identical texture or efficacy; being out of stock does not establish discontinuation
Reviewed judgment: The user task is specific, but competing offerings are plentiful; only version documentation and hands-on test data may provide differentiation.
Next evidence: First verify that 3 products are actually discontinued and that older-version information is available, then check corresponding branded-query demand and existing coverage.
SkinSort · page opened in research: Source claim: Its algorithm matches ingredients, attributes, and benefits, including replacements for discontinued products. Available offering: Product-level dupe lists and match scores; scores do not establish equivalent efficacy.
SKINSKOOL · search snippet only: Source claim: Finds alternatives with similar ingredients and attributes. Available offering: Beauty Alternatives Finder and product categories.
